One Day Pottery Retreat

A very new one day workshop with me in the beautiful countryside

10am - 4pm - with lunch

Come, play, learn, create, eat drink and relax.

Nestled in the heart of the South Downs in Hampshire, this one-day hand building workshop offers something rarer than a pottery class — a genuine retreat from everyday life.

I’m really excited to offer this special workshop. Come and spend the day learning the fundamentals of hand building with clay. The workshop covers three essential techniques: pinching, slab building and coiling. You'll come away with new pottery skills. You can make up to three items or one sculptural pot, it’s up to you. The pieces will be fired in the kiln and ready to collect approximately 4-6 weeks after the workshop.

The pace is unhurried and the atmosphere relaxed — this is a day designed for focus, creativity, and the simple pleasure of making something by hand. A homemade lunch in the garden is an absolute must, including home grown salads.

Suitable for all levels. Beginners are warmly welcomed and will be guided through every step from scratch. More experienced potters can take their practice further with more ambitious, in-depth projects. If you have a specific piece you'd like to make or a technique you'd like to explore, I’d be more than happy to help you at this workshop.

What's included: One to three handmade clay pieces (fired and ready to collect after later) · Tuition in pinching, slab building and coiling · Personalised guidance for all levels. Homemade lunch with freshly baked bread and local produce. A day set in the beautiful South Downs landscape.
