About Camilla

Webb Carter

I studied Ceramics at Camberwell College of Art and graduated in 2009. Ever since then I have been creating wall installations and pots using geometric shapes and patterns. Over the years of making my work has matured; I am working with new clays, glazes and stained clay.

I am drawn to the natural clay textures and surfaces. I am now exploring these in more depth and am trying to show the pure detail of the clay surface. I was always looking at optical illusion and geometry as a starting point. I like to take patterns and try making them in 3D. I have started to look at classical Greek pottery as inspiration but then turn the profiles of these pots into angular straight sided forms.

I have created many different wall installations since 2011 for public, commercial or private projects. I can work with clients and designers to create something very personal to complement an interior space. Please explore my site and email or call to discuss ideas you might have.

Teaching Pottery

I teach all kinds of pottery classes and courses in handbuilding pottery.

I mainly teach from my garden studio between Selhurst and East Croydon. I can fit up to 5 people per class which allows me to focuss on individual needs and abilities. If you attend a class with me it will be cosy and laid back. See my classes section for more information or just give me a call if you'd like more information on my tutoring.

Please sign up to my mailing list below to hear about class dates, recent commissions, upcoming sales and exhibitions.
