Porcelain is a wonderful and tricky clay to hand build with. In this two day course you will learn about the material; it's qualities, characteristics and why it is different from using other clays such as earthenware and stoneware. We will spend time preparing the porcelain clay ready for slab building and looking at which tools to work with. On the second day you will construct and build your pieces. We will explore different surface decoration techniques and uses of colour with the clay. You will also have the opportunity to add handles, spouts or feet to your pots.
Classes will be kept small so you will get focussed tuition in a relaxed pottery studio.
